Against-
Australians citizens were kept in the dark due to fear of spies.
Looking at conscription, there were the moral issues of forcing men to kill. It is wrong to force men to join the army.
With the manpower controls there was a lack of freedom for Australian citizens and overpowering control of the government.
Individuals should be entitled to their own privacy. Censorship meant that their letters were read, etc.

Rationing Ensured there were enough supplies to sustain Australia during the wartime.
Through censorship Australian military information was kept safe.
Built a stronger defence system for Australia
With censorship, bad news was not reported reducing panic among citizens.
